Will (Thomas Sneed) is a young man in 1920s South Carolina who dreams of playing major league baseball, so he takes a job at the local textile mill in order to join their team and get noticed by scouts. Will leaves behind his affluent life against his father's wishes, but soon runs afoul of his working-class teammates and finds himself steeped in sin.
