Christ and His Apostles

The Day by Day series seeks to promote daily meditation in the word of God. The original volume Day by Day through the New Testament was published in 1979, and in this fifteenth volume we revisit this most important portion of scripture. In an era of religious pluralism we bow to the fact that Jesus Christ the Son of God is God’s unique and final communication to man. He came not to destroy the law, or the prophets … but to fulfil. Supremely, that ‘fulfilment’ is seen in His death and exaltation. Moreover, the inspired writings of His apostles are no less authoritative than Christ’s own words, for according to Paul ‘the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord’. This is the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
